chose a gateway sign that would combine the
glass artwork of Silver City artist, Catherine
Lottes, with a rustic/industrial look.  UW-
Milwaukee Architecture students took that

In an effort to brand the Silver City neighborhood and its commercial district, neighbors decided to
design a sign that highlighted the neighborhood’s rich history and diversity. At two community meetings

be lit by solarpowered lights at night.  Architects from Plunkett Raysich Architects, UWM’s Community
Design Solutions team, P&H employees, and volunteers from the Silver City Main Street were
instrumental in the design process.
